What is whey protein and where does it come from?
Whey is the liquid remaining after cow’s milk has been curdled and strained. The whey protein is separated from this mixture, which becomes a high quality protein powder and is beneficial as a nutritional supplement. If I'm lactose intolerant should I avoid whey protein?
Individuals with lactose intolerance should select a pure whey protein isolate, which has less than 0.1 gram of lactose per tablespoon (20 grams).
